KW Choi
KW Choi is head of R&D at SAMA Pharm Co Ltd in Seoul, South Korea, which he joined in 2009. After graduation from Chung Ang University, Seoul in 1991, he started his career at SUNKYONG (current SK Chemical), where he worked for three years as an associate in business development team. Then, he moved to HANDOK (joint venture with Hoechst, currently divided as HANDOK and Sanofi-Aventis), where he served for ten years as a regulatory manager responsible for HANDOK, Aventis Korea respectively. In 1999 he was temporarily based in Hoechst Marion Roussel Regional office in Paris, France. In 2005 KW joined CKD Pharm Corp, where he was in charge of Business Development as a director until 2008. Since 2003 he has served as a member of CPAC (Central Pharmaceutical Affairs Council) as an expert in safety information evaluation. Also he was invited to KFDA (Korea Food and Drug Association) task force team for the legislation on IND (Investigational New Drug) and Orphan drug in 2002 and 2004 respectively representing the industry. From 2002 to 2004, he was a member of KRPIA (Korea Research-based Pharmaceutical Industry Association) Regulatory Committee. He served as the first chairman of Regulatory committee in Korea Drug Research Association in 2006.
