Manuel Campolini is a member of the Brussels Bar and works at national, EU and international levels in the areas of unfair competition law and intellectual property rights including patent/SPC, trademarks and data exclusivity. Within the law firm Stibbe, he is a member of the Intellectual Property and Life Sciences Group, with a practice that focuses on legal assistance, strategic advice and litigation in the pharmaceutical sector (IP, regulatory, pricing and reimbursement, promotion and advertising, clinical trials, parallel trade, etc.) He regularly represents pharmaceutical companies in relations with the European Commission. Between 1997 and 2001 he was manager of the legal department at the European Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries and Associations (EFPIA). He was more particularly involved in regulatory and TRIPs issues and ran the both Data Exclusivity and WTO-TRIPs Priority Action Teams of the EFPIA. He represented EFPIA at WIPO, WHO and during the WTO Ministerial Conference in Seattle (1999). At a later stage he also played an active role as an external counsel to EFPIA for a number of issues, such as the revision of EU pharmaceutical legislation. As a specialist in pharmaceutical law, he is also a frequent public speaker and the author of articles and other publications on his areas of competence. He is member of the editorial board of Patent World and Regulatory Affairs Journal and the author of numerous articles.
