Ireland to cut fee for advice on combination products

The Irish Medicines Board, having found no takers for a new service it started last year to offer formal scientific advice on the drug component of drug/device combination products, is planning to charge a reduced fee for the job1,2.

Reacting to similar consultation services offered by other drug regulatory agencies, the IMB had formally announced in June 2008 that it was in a position to offer its scientific opinion to notified bodies on ancillary medicinal substances used in medical devices3,4...
