Estonia faces ECJ for failing to implement amending device law

The European Commission has referred Estonia to the European Court of Justice for its failure to implement the amending European medical devices legislation (Directive 2007/47/EC) within the stipulated deadline of 21 December 20081.

European Union member states had been obliged to notify the commission by the December deadline of the measures they had taken to implement the amending directive, which revised the directives on medical devices (Directive 93/42/EEC) and active implantable medical devices (Directive 90/385/EEC)...
